Virginian-Pilot July 18, 1966
NORFOLK - John Sheppard Gallup, 57, the husband of Mrs. Margaret Murray Gallup 
and a son of Mrs. Eliza Messick Gallup Minor and the late John S. Gallup, died 
Sunday at 3:45 p.m. in his home at 5524 Texas Ave.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Besides his widow and mother, survivors include two sons, John S. Gallup III of 
Norfolk and Guerry P. Gallup of Christiansburg, Va.; his stepfather, two 
grandchildren.
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, to St. 
Paul's Episcopal Church for a funeral service Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. 
Walton W. Davis. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
