Miss Gallup was a native of Norfolk and a graduate of Longwood College. Her earlier education was in Norfolk public schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Walter Gum BibIe Class, United Methodist Women's Club, and Donna Tyson Circle. She also was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She had taught at Henry Clay, Lafayette, Willard, and Suburban Park elementary schools. Survivors include three sisters, Miss Emily M. Gallup, Mrs. Alberta C. Sykes and Miss Florence L. Carmine, and a brother, Augustus W. Gallup, all of Norfolk; and nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church by the Rev. David B. Lewis and Dr. Owen T. Kelly. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, in charge. The body will be in church Thursday at 1 p.m. and the family will be at her home.
