Norfolk Landmark June 20, 1884
A NOBLE YOUTH GONE.
We but express the voice of the community when we extend to our honored townsman, 
WM. R. GALT and his family, our heartfelt sympathy in the loss they have sustained 
by the death of our lamented young friend, JAMES S. GALT, Esq. He was modest, 
upright, warm-hearted, well-educated, and of such a commanding presence as to fill 
all minds with astonishment when the hand of disease was laid upon him with a 
heavy grasp. He bore his long sufferings with the most noble fortitude and has 
left behind him a name without spot or shadow of reproach; and in this fact, and 
the hope of a blessed resurrection, those who lament his untimely end should find 
an abiding comfort and consolation.
