Virginian-Pilot January 19, 1978
LEXINGTON - Miss Mary Meares Galt, 92, a retired college professor and a native of 
San Francisco, died Monday.
Miss Galt had taught at Mt. Holyoke College, University of Toledo, American 
University, and Peace College.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Paul Wells of Lexington.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in R. E. Lee Episcopal Church of 
Lexington with William B. Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista, in charge.
A graveside funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, 
with Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, Cedar Road Chapel, assisting in arrangements.
