Virginian-Pilot  March 5, 1901
The funeral of Mr. John E. Galvin was held from the residence, No. 387 Chapel 
street, at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, and was largely attended. The services were 
conducted by Rev. Father John Doherty, of St. Mary's Catholic church. The floral 
tributes were very handsome. The remains were laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery. 
Following were the pallbearers: Edward George, M J. Madden, Charles Harris, J. J. 
O Keefe, Victor Coffee, Morris Long, Thomas Holmes Reilly.
