Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, November 15, 1997 
Betty Jean Artis Gambrell of the 900 block of E. Princess Anne Road died Nov.12,
1997, in a local hospital.

Born in Greenville, S.C., she was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Monique Nicole Gambrell; a son, Brock C. Gambrell;
mother, Emma J. Register; a sister, Loraine McCollough; a brother, Willie
McCollough; three grandchidlren, Shakilya Thornton, Shaquille Wilkins and Quran
Alexander; an uncle, Robert Queen; three aunts, Vivian Carriere, Betty King and
Annie Hagans; and a devoted daughter-in-law, Patricia Alexander.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Calvary Cemetery . Family
and friends will assemble at 223 Virginia Beach Blvd. Graves Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
