She was the daughter of the late James D. and Margaret Murray Gammon and was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 710 Redgate Avenue. Miss Gammon was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Church. She entered the Norfolk public school system as a teacher in February, 1897, prior to which time she taught about five years in the Berkley school and several years in the South Norfolk school. In Norfolk, she first taught at the Charlotte Street School and several years later went to Patrick Henry School where she remained until her retirement in June 1936. She was greatly beloved by all of her many pupils as well as a great host of friends. The body will be taken from the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover Avenue, to the residence this afternoon for funeral services tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon. The Rev. W. Taylor Willis, rector of Christ and Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, will officiate.
