Virginian-Pilot  December 27, 1911
The funeral of Miss Elizabeth Jefferson Gantt, daughter of the late Captain Albert 
W. and Mary Jefferson Gantt, was held from St. Mary’s Catholic church, at 11 
o’clock yesterday and was largely attended. Requiem Mass was celebrated. The 
following Catholic clergy participated: Celebrant, Rev. Father J. J. Doherty; 
deacon, Rev. Father J. C. McGovern, master of ceremonies, Rev. Father E. J. Walsh, 
and sub-deacon, Rev. Father J. A. Kelliher. During the services, Mrs. James Hughes 
rendered as a solo, “Lead, Kindly Light.” There were handsome floral tributes. The 
interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery.
The following were the pall-bearers: M. J. Madden, T. M. Cashin, J. A. Baecher, 
Colonel Chas. H. Consolvo, John McIan, J. T. Kevill, Joseph Rielly and M. T. 
Friary.
