VIRGINIA BEACH - Manuel "Manny" Garcia, 81, of Titusville, Fla., passed away April 
18, 2006.

A resident of Florida for many years prior to his death, he previously resided for 
several decades in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.  Born July 18, 1924, in Norfolk, he 
was the son of the late Manuel and Rosa Garcia.  He joined the Navy as a young man 
and served in the Pacific during World War II.  He was then engaged in the 
mechanical contracting and construction business until his retirement.

He was predeceased in death by his parents and his brothers, Pete, Freddie and 
Ted.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Gina Garcia of Florida; and his 
sons, Manuel and Michael Garcia, both of California; three grandchildren, Julie, 
Michael Brandon and Natalie Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Luke, Amber and 
Dakota; his sister, Mary and brother Dominick of Virginia Beach; sister, Anna and 
brother, Edward of Florida; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, 
cousins and friends.

A chapel service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Laskin Road Chapel.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Norfolk immediately 
following the service.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at 
the funeral home.
