Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark October 29, 1934
John Paul Gardner, 13-month-old son of Willian Thomas and Bessie Smith Gardner, 
died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock.  Besides his 
parents, he is survived by three half-sisters, Mrs. Lola Hewitt and the Misses 
Esther and Bessie Mae Butt, and two half-brothers, Jesse and Willian T. Gardner, 
Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Hone tomorrow 
afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
