Virginian Pilot, Jan. 30,1963
Heber Cassell Gardner Sr., 62, of 5801 Lockhard Ave., Indian River Park, died
Tuesday at 6:10 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness.

A native of Isle of Wight County, he lived in this area 44 years. He was a son
of George Nelson and Mrs. Ella Jurdan Gardner and the husband of Mrs. Mary Rice
Gardner.

He was a member of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church.

Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. R. W. Pebworth of Chesapeake;
three sons, Heber C. Gardner Jr., D. E. Gardner and J. N. Gardner of Norfolk; a
brother, H. J. Gardner of Suffolk; and eight grandchildren.

The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home.
