Mrs. Garnett taught at Maury High School for most of her career and retired from the Norfolk public schools after 49 years. She had owned and operated Camp Greenbrier for Boys in Alderson. Born in Belle Haven, Va., she was a graduate of Sweet Briar College. She was a member of Christ Church in Eastville, Va., and was the widow of Theodore S. Garnett. Survivors include a daughter, Maria G. Hood of Belle Haven; a son, Theodore S. Garnett V of Philadelphia; and eight grandchildren. Her body was donated to medical science. A memorial service will be conducted at noon Saturday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Harry W. Crandall.
