Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, December 25, 2000 
Catherine C. Garrett, 93, of the 500 block of Head of River Road, died Dec. 22,
2000.

Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of Cornelius Garrett and a retired dietician
having worked for Norfolk Public Schools for 20 years. Mrs. Garrett was a member
of Great Bridge Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include a daughter, Catherine A. Garrett of Virginia Beach; two sons,
Herbert V. Garrett of Chattanooga, Tenn., James E. Garrett of Chesapeake; a
sister, Mary Sawyer of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and four
brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses, Great Bridge, 681 Oak Grove Road, Chesapeake, by Roy
Pallette. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at
Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. In
lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and
Related Disorders Foundation.
