Norfolk Virginian April 28, 1879
Major George G. Garrison, well known in this city, died at his residence in 
Princess Anne county, Sunday morning, at 4 o'clock, after many months of ill 
health. He was at one time a merchant in this city and served during the war on 
the staff of General R. F. Colston. His funeral took place on Sunday, at 12 M., 
and after the services the remains were brought to this city and interred in the 
Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
