The Norfolk Virginian Pilot June 21, 1937
Mrs. Viola May Gaskin, age 36 years, wife of Lieut. John J. Gaskin, U.S.N., 
(retired), and daughter of the late Edgar and Mrs. Viola Saunders Keefe, died 
at a local hospital, yesterday evening at 9:45 o'clock. Mrs. Gaskin was a 
native and life-long resident of Norfolk, residing at 1325 Westmoreland avenue, 
Larchmont. She was a member of Larchmont Baptist Church. Besides her husband, 
she is survived by one son, John J. Gaskin, Jr., of Norfolk, and a sister, Mrs. 
William Jenkins, of Aulander, N.C. Remains were taken to H.D. Oliver's funeral 
apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, pending funeral arrangements.
