NORFOLK—Funeral services for Capt. William Edward Gatewood, who died Sunday at a 
Norfolk hospital, were conducted at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments yesterday 
at 10 a.m., by the Rev. William P. Connolly, of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial 
was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Members of the Civil Air Patrol were in attendance and 
served as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers were Capt. L. H. Barnes, H. 
McKay, A. C. Derby, Charles Vellines, Robert Pale and J. J. Hart.
