Norfolk - Mrs. Katie Selden Gatling, 95, of 944 Mariner street, died July 29 at 
home.

A Norfolk native, she was the daughter of the late James and Mrs. Margaret Jones 
Selden and the widow of John H. Gatling.

She was a member of First Baptist Church,Bute Street 78 years and a member of 
United Order of Tents, Star East 6.

She is survived by two sons, John H. Gatling Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, and Edward 
Gatling of Baltimore; a daughter, Miss Rebecca Gatling of Norfolk; a sister, 
Miss Nettie Selden of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 
nephews, and 6 nieces.

Funeral services were conducted Aug. 1 in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by 
the Rev. E. Paul Simms. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King Funeral 
Home in charge.
