The fatality was James Linwood Gaylord, Jr., 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Gaylord of 229 West Fourteenth street, who died in St. Vincent's Hospital at 5:00 p.m. as the result of injuries received about an hour earlier when he was struck by an automobile as he was riding his scooter across the intersection of Monticello avenue and Princess Anne road. Besides his parents, the boy is survived by a brother, William L. Gaylord, and his grandmothers, Mrs. Suzy Gaylord and Mrs. Cora Lee Cohen, both of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. ************** The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday January 3, 1943 James Linwood Gaylord, Jr. - Funeral services for James Linwood, the six year old son of James L. and Mrs. Rosa Cohen Gaylord, were conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. B. M. Persinger, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Thomas G. and Charles A. Downing, 3d, H. Lewis Harrell, Jr. and Roy Parker. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
