Gaylord, 78, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at his residence, 106 East Thirtieth Street, last night at 11:30 o'clock. He was the father of Richard R. Gaylord, of the Norfolk Fire Department, who was killed in the Berkley fire several years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mord Plummer and Mrs. J. Henry Parker, of Norfolk; eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. He was a son of the late Captain John and Sarah Whitlock Gaylord. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. GAYLORD - Funeral services for Mr. Gaylord, whose death occurred Monday night at the residence, 106 East Thirtieth Street, were held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the pastor, Rev. E. A. Brosnan, officiating. Rev. R. B. Kealy, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, was present in the sanctuary. During the service, several selections were rendered by the choir of St. Mary's Female Academy, with Mrs. James Hughes, organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, sweet peas and ferns. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by Rev. M. J. Molloy. The pallbearers were Lawrence Kelly, Edward Messick, George W. Williams, Thomas J. Nelson, J. S. Hatch, M. T. Cashin, Charles A. Plummer and H. D. Oliver.
