He lived in Norfolk for 32 years and was retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Gearhart Lock of Virginia Beach; a son, Paul Wilson Gearhart of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie G. Trammell of Oxford, Ala., and Mrs. Margaret G. Foster and Mrs. Gladys G. Jones of Anniston; a brother, Edward W. Gearhart Sr. of Anniston, and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church by Dr. William L. Wilson. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, in charge. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9. They suggest that memorial donations may be made to Zuni (Va.) Presbyterian School or Tidewater Chapter of the American Heart Association.
