NORFOLK — Gordon James Gearheart Sr., 60, of 638 Virginia Ave., the husband of 
Mrs. Marie Rossano Gearheart and a native of Roanoke, died Monday in his home. He 
lived here since 1940 and was retired.
He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and American Legion Post on Colley 
Avenue.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jackie Hutcheson of Virginia Beach, 
and Mrs. Diane Hungk and Mrs. Joyce Barnes of Chesapeake; a son, Gordon James 
Gearheart Jr. of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Chrisman of Washington and Mrs. 
Oeita Williams of Falls Church; three brothers, Homer G. Gearheart and Hugh G. 
Gearheart of Roanoke, and Julian G. Gearheart of Ferrum, Va.; and nine 
grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments with 
burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 
7:30 to 8:30 and will be at 5917 Woodhaven Court, Woodstock, Virginia Beach.
