Gedmin, 88, of the 3000 block of Racine Ave., a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, died Oct. 20,1988, in a hospital. Mr. Gedmin, a native of Philadelphia, retired from the Navy after 33 years. He served in both World Wars and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was the widower of Genevieve M. Gedmin. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley G. Gedmin of Norfolk; a son, Victor G. Gedmin of Kill Devil Hills; a half-sister, Victoria Zekas of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph P. Lehman. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.
