Pat was born September 8, 1928, to the late Bernard W. Geerman and Juanita Tyree Geerman. She is survived by her sister, Helen Geerman Lippincott, husband Bill, of Murrell's Inlet, S.C. and their children and grandchildren. Pat is pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Edward J. Geiger and her first granddaughter, Jennifer Lynne Thigpen. Raised in Norfolk, VA, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, St. Joseph's High School at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, VA. Her marriage to Edward J. Geiger, in 1965, joined two large Catholic families totaling eleven children, thus the Geiger-Maynard family was established. Left to cherish her memory are their children: James E. Geiger, wife Yvonne, of Elizabethtown, PA; Thomas D. Maynard, wife Rita, of Sydney, OH; Michael H. Geiger, wife Barbara, Suffolk, VA ; Patricia Maynard Gustafson and Frank Schoell of Norfolk, VA; Claire Geiger Ackiss, husband Richard, of Va. Beach, VA; William David Maynard and Sue Williams of Va. Beach, VA.; Thomas R. Geiger, wife Rhonwyn, of Tallahassee,FL; Mildred Maynard Morris, husband Wayne, of Portsmouth, VA; Vivian Geiger Burgess, husband, Vincent of Richmond, VA; Richard M. Maynard, wife Debbie, of Newland, NC and Joseph G. Maynard, wife Tammy, of Chesapeake, VA.. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memory 23 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren, who affectionately called her GG-Ma, and 4 great-great- grandchildren. A devout Catholic, Pat was a charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Va. Beach Virginia. She served in the St. Gregory's Choir, Women's Club, Legion of Mary, Oblates, Catholic Daughters of America, the September Senior Citizens Club and the St. Cecelia's Bereavement Choir. She also enjoyed her involvement with the Crafty Dozen, Gourmet Gang, Dixie Squares, Birthday Girls, United Air Lines Seagulls and other clubs and organizations. The family would like to thank Va. Beach Health Care and Rehabilitation Center Unit 2 and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital 4-East for their care and kindness to our mother. A mass celebrating Pat's life will be held, Wednesday, March 28, 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, VA Beach, VA, followed by a reception held at the church.
