Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 1, 1935

Vincent Genscha, aged 51, husband of Thelma Genscha, died suddenly at his 
residence, 919 Holt Street, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Genscha was a 
native of Austria and a resident of Norfolk for the past 15 years. Besides his 
wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.E. Fentress, Mrs. G.D. Moots and 
Miss Katherine Genscha, all of Norfolk; a son, John Genscha, of Austria; six 
grandchildren and a brother, Frank Genscha, of Granger, Tex. The body was taken 
to H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason Street, pending 
funeral arrangements.

Vincent Genscha — Funeral services for Mr. Genscha, whose death occurred Sunday 
afternoon at the residence, 919 Holt street, were held at St. Mary's Catholic 
Church at 10 o’clock yesterday morning, with the Rev. John Kociela, officiating. 
There was a large attendance and a number of floral offerings. The casket was 
covered with a double cluster of calla-lilies, carnations and ferns. Several 
selections were rendered during the service by the choir of St. Mary’s Academy, 
with Miss Anna Gargano, organist. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The 
pallbearers were E. Portafe, William Cascell, William Baccarney, C. R. Kidd, 
Harry West, Callie Miller, J. W. Sack and I. Rosino.
