Virginian-Pilot May 16, 1960
NORFOLK — Mrs. Mary Minetree George, 71, wife of J. Frank George Sr. and 
daughter of Clinton and Mrs. Victoria Moore Minetree, died Sunday at 5:20 p.m. 
at the residence, 1453 Graydon Ave.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., she had resided in Norfolk 65 years. She was a 
member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a son, J. Frank George Jr. of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. 
Gladys M. Cartwright of Norfolk and Miss Louise C. Minetree of New York City, 
and two grandchildren.
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Paul's Church 
for a funeral service Tuesday at noon with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The 
family requests that flowers be omitted.
