NORFOLK - Willie Howard Gerald passed away Feb. 9, 2009 after a short illness. 
Born in Norfolk, he was a former member of Bethlehem Church of Christ Disciples. 
He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Norfolk State 
University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a state employee.

"Howard," as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was predeceased 
by his father, Stellie Gerald and grandparents, William and Sarah Boone.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elsie Gerald; his son, Beron; daughter-in-
law, Sherrie; grandsons, Breon Jr. and Jaden Gerald; former wife, Diane B. 
Gerald; cousins, devoted friends and classmates.

The family appreciates all acts of kindness during the illness and passing of 
our loved one. A private entombment is planned. Metropolitan Funeral Service, 
Berkley Ave. Chapel, is in charge.
