Virginian-Pilot September 12, 1900
Mr. Milton T. Jerald departed this life at his home on Thirty-eighth street at 8 
o'clock yesterday morning, aged 39 years. The deceased had been in feeble health 
for over eighteen months, but his fatal illness was only of two and a half 
months' duration. Mr. Jerald was born in Perquimans county, N.C., where he 
resided until nearly eight years ago when he moved here, and was employed in the 
Powhatan Manufacturing Company. He was a gentleman of quiet and unobtrusive 
manners and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. A widow and four small 
children survive him, the oldest being a boy of only 9 years of age. The funeral 
will be held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon and will be 
conducted by Rev. John W. Carroll, of the Methodist Church. The interment will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
