NORFOLK - Charles William Gerloff Jr., 87, of 6017 River Road, the husband of the 
late Mrs. Mary Louise McCourt Gerloff, died Wednesday in a hospital.
He was the former owner of Charles W. Gerloff Welding Co., in which he remained 
active until last May, when he was injured in an accident in his home. He was a 
member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a native of Jamaica,N.Y.
Survivors include four sons, Frank Gerloff, John Gerloff and Paul V. Gerloff of 
Norfolk, and the Rev. Fr. Charles W. Gerloff of Arlington; three sisters, Mrs. 
Nancy Walsh and Mrs. Maude Gilbert of Norfolk, and Mrs. Edna Overton of Newport 
News; 13 grandchildren: and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be said tonight at 7:30 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. 
A Scripture Rosary will follow. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Friday at 10 
a.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, has charge.
