A native of Norfolk, Mr. Gerloff was the owner of Charles G. Gerloff Co. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during World War II. He also was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Survivors include wife, Virginia Smith Gerloff; three daughters, Anna Margolius of Virginia Beach, Mary Ellen Copstantineau of Randolph, Mass., and Therese Gerloff of Norfolk; four sons, Charles W. Gerloff II of Virginia Beach, Donet J. Gerloff of Norfolk, Frank M. Gerloff Jr., of Mechanicsville, Va., and Joseph P. Gerloff of Norfolk; a brother, the Rev. Charles W. Gerloff of Alexandria; and 12 grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Revs. Joseph Slattery and Charles W. Gerloff. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held in Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 6 p.m. Sunday. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
