CAPT. JAMES W. GEROW
Old time residents here will remember Capt. James W. Gerow, for many years a 
prominent resident of Norfolk, and once business associate of the late Barton 
Myers. Capt. Gerow, who, after leaving Norfolk, resided for a long time in 
Lynchburg, died on Thursday last at Dante, Va. His remains were brought to 
Norfolk, where funeral was held Sunday at St. Paul's church. Rev. H. H. 
Covington, D.D., and Rev. E. B. Meredith, of Scottsville, Albemarle County, 
Virginia, officiated. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. 
The casket was covered with clusters of Easter lilies, roses, sweetpeas and 
ferns. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
