Norfolk - Mrs. Addie Gibbs of 367 E. Olney road was given final rites Saturday 
at Metropolitan AMEZ Church by the Rev. R. A. Councill.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery by Graves Funeral Home.

A native of South Mills, NC, she was a daughter of Willis Doxsey and Mrs. 
Cordelia Doxsey and widow of Ernest Gibbs Sr.

She died June 16 in Richardson Nursing Home after a prolonged illness.  She was 
a member of Metropolitan Church.

Surviving are four sons, William Gibbs Sr. of Virginia Beach, Warren Gibbs and 
Ernest Gibbs Jr., both of Chesapeake and John Thomas of Portsmouth;  two 
daughters, Mrs. Rosa Lloyd of Portsmouth and Mrs. Marion Jones of Norfolk;  and 
a sister,  Mrs. Maggie Thompson of South Mills.
