She was a native of Baltimore, Md. and lived in Norfolk from 1889 to 1921 at which time she moved to New York City and resided there until 1954 when she made her residence in Richmond at 3408 East Broad Street. She was educated at the Norfolk Woman's College and was a graduate of the Ryland Institute of Norfolk. She was a member of the Freemason Street Baptist Church. Her late husband, John Mellins Gibbs, was the president of the Forsberg Lumber Company. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The body will be brought to Norfolk and taken to the Cox Funeral Home tomorrow at 10 a.m. and will lie in state until noon. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery.
