He died suddenly about midnight on Saturday, being attacked by congestion of the lungs but a few hours before, and was not believed to be seriously ill. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity of the Royal Arcanum and Knights of Pythias, in each of which he held high office. He was 61 years of age, two sisters, Mrs. Robert Wyatt and Mrs. Floyd N. Nottingham, of Northumberland county, Eastern Shore; a brother, Mr. John T. Gibbs, of Norfolk; his wife and four children, Mrs. W. B. Daugherty, and Messrs. John M. and C. B. Gibbs, survive him.
