Norfolk Ledger Dispatch March 14, 1935

Charles Warner Gibbs, 34, died at 6:40 p.m. yesterday at a local hospital. He 
was a native of Norfolk and had resided here all his life. He was a son of Mrs. 
Annie Warner Gibbs and the late Charles B. Gibbs. Besides his mother, he is 
survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Miles Gibbs; and a daughter, Edith Mae Gibbs.
Mr. Gibbs was a  member of Memorial Methodist Church, Doric Lodge, No. 44, A.F. 
&  A.M.; Ionic Royal Arch Chapter, No. 46; Grice Commandery, No. 16; Khedive 
Temple and the Berkley Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles. He succeeded his father 
in the hardware business in Berkley and was connected with that business until 
his death.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue. 
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m.at the residence, 1721 
Arlington Avenue, Campostella Heights. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
