VIRGINIA BEACH - Donald Mitchell Giddens, of the 3500 block of Dandelion 
Crescent, an operations engineer for the City of Norfolk, died November 7, 1987, 
in his home.

Mr. Giddens, a native of Nassawadox, Va., was a member of First Calvary Baptist 
Church. He was retired from the Air Force. He was a member of The Friends Civic 
Club.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Giddens; a daughter, Donna Taylor of 
Virginia Beach; his mother, Melson Collins Giddens; three sisters, Juanita 
Stewart, and Gwendolyn Johnson, both of Norfolk, and Sylvia Simpkins of 
Philadelphia; and four brothers, William Giddens, Avon Giddens, Lawrence Giddens 
and Wayne Giddens, all of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Calvary Baptist 
Church by the Rev. Johnnie White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

The family will assemble in his residence.

The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
