NORFOLK — Ruth Virginia Henley Gilbert, 87, of 5805 Townley Ave., a native of 
Norfolk and the widow of Howard Alonzo Gilbert, died Sunday in a hospital.
She was a member of Colonial Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce G. Owens of Norfolk; two grandsons, Skip Owens 
of Virginia Beach and Gary G. Owens of Norfolk; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery, with Smith & 
Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, in charge. The family will be at the home 
of Mrs. William E. Owens Jr., 5805 Townley Ave., Norfolk. Memorial contributions 
may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
