Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark Thursday December 31, 1914

GILBERT - At his late residence, 1224 Baxter Avenue, Tuesday, December 30, 1914, 
at 12:15 a.m., BENJAMIN F. GILBERT, in the 66th year of his age. 
The funeral services will take place from H.C. Smith's Funeral Apartments, 
THURSDAY AFTERNOON, December 31, at 2 o'clock.  Friends of the family are 
respectfully invited to attend  Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Benjamin F. Gilbert died Tuesday night at his home, 1224 Baxter Avenue, 
Brambleton, after two months' illness. He was 65 years old and was well known 
and highly regarded.  He leaves two sons, John H. Gilbert and W.R. Sivills, both 
of Norfolk and three brothers, C.M., F.J. and William Gilbert, all of this city. 
The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock this afternoon from H.C. Smith's 
Funeral Apartments, 306 Bank Street.  Rev. F.G. Davis, pastor of the Brambleton 
Avenue Methodist Church, will conduct the services and interment will be in 
Cedar Grove Cemetery.
