Virginian Pilot Tuesday August 8, 1905

Mrs. Matilda A. Gilbert, of Berkley, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at 
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zack Quidley, in Oakdale.  The deceased was 
born in Camden, N.C. and was 73(?) years old, but had been a resident of 
this section about twenty-five years.  In addition to her daughter she 
leaves three sons to mourn their loss.  They are: H.C., T.C. and K.R. 
Humphries, all of Berkley and South Norfolk.
The deceased was a member of the Baptist church.
The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 5 
o'clock, with Rev. P.S.C. Davis officiating, and the interment will be in 
Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Matilda A. Gilbert, who died Monday morning at the home 
of her daughter, Mrs. Zack Quidley, in Oakdale, was conducted from the 
residence yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock.  Rev. P.S C. Davis, pastor of 
South Norfolk Baptist Church, officiated and the interment was in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
The attendance was quite large.
