VIRGINIA BEACH - Dorothy Gilchrist, 97, of Westminster-Canterbury, passed away 
Aug. 6, 2003, in her home.
A native of Norfolk, Ms. Gilchrist was a retired teacher and assistant principal 
with the Norfolk Public School System. She was a graduate of Hollins College and 
the University of Virginia. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her three nephews, Homer R. Gilchrist of Phoenix, Ariz., 
Robert S. Gilchrist of Sandusky, Ohio and William MacDougall Gilchrist of 
Beaufort, N.C.; and several great-nephews and -nieces.
A private graveside service will be conducted in Elmwood Cemetery. Hollomon-
Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of 
flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's 
Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.
