Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, October 9, 1998 
Dorothy E. Giles, 68, of the 2500 block of Ruffin St., died Oct. 5, 1998, in
DePaul Medical Center.

Mrs. Giles was born in Norfolk and was the beloved wife of 52 years to Harold W.
Giles. She was the cherished mother of three daughters, Dorothy Esters of
Brentwood, Md., Margaret Giles of Norfolk, and Patricia Smith and son-in-law,
William Smith, both of Suffolk; a son, Harold K. Giles, and daughter-in-law,
Faye Giles, both of Portsmouth; a niece whom she and her husband raised, Lelia
Brickhouse of Virginia Beach; a sister, Bernice Dockery of Norfolk; a brother,
Dennis Brickhouse, also of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a
great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives
and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Graves Funeral Home Chapel,
Norfolk. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the residence.
