NORFOLK - Mrs. Helen V. Giles, 56, of 701 Michigan Ave., the wife of Sterling B. 
Giles and a native of New London, Conn., died Wednesday in a hospital.
She was a daughter of Mrs. Annie E. Conlin Whillock.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was active in the 
volunteer program of Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and its Parent Teacher 
Association.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nancy L. Young of West Sayville, Long 
Island, N.Y., and Miss Anne H. Giles of Norfolk; three sons, Sterling B. Giles Jr. 
of Atlanta, and Andrew C. Giles and Joseph J. Giles of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. 
Anna Mae Thompson of Houston, Tex.; a brother, Tommy Whillock of Norfolk; and five 
grandchildren.
A Christian Wake will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Chapel, Colley Avenue, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
