A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of D. Frank Gill, founder and president of James G. Gill Co., Inc., coffee roaster and dealer, and a daughter of Forest and Mrs. Ella Holland Batchelder. Over the years she contributed largely toward the restoration of the early Norfolk County records dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Great Bridge Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Norfolk Historical Society, and Princess Anne Country Club. She is survived by a nephew, James Gill Brockenbrough of Norfolk, and a cousin, Mrs. Virginia Black Edwards of Confluence, Pa. The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Andrew R. Bird Jr. of First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
