Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, March 7, 2002 
Addie Joyner Gillespie, 82, of the 1000 block of Albert Ave., died March 4,
2002, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born in Rocky Mount (Nash
County), N.C., and was the widow of James M. Gillespie. She was a member of New
Hope Church of God in Christ.

Her three daughters, Regina Crowley of Virginia Beach, Deborah Collins of
Portsmouth, Tina Gillespie of Norfolk, seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren will sorrowfully miss her.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope COGIC, 3232
Brest Ave., Norfolk, by Elder Calvin A. Durham. Interment will be in Calvary
Cemetery , Norfolk. The procession will leave from the residence at 10:30 a.m. A
viewing will be held today from 11 to 8 p.m. Metropolitan Funeral Service,
Granby Street Chapel is in charge.
