Virginian-Pilot May 27, 1947
Mrs. Henrietta Williams Gilliam, 78, widow of Thomas H. Gilliam and daughter of 
the late Theodorick A. and Mrs. Gertrude Smart Williams, a lifelong resident of 
Norfolk, died yesterday at 9:35 a.m. at her residence, 227 West Ocean Avenue, 
Pamlico. She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Church. Surviving her are 
four sons, Thomas H. Gilliam, Jr., of Philadelphia; Theodorick A. W. Gilliam, of 
Connecticut; Harry L. Gilliam, of New York, and Armistead W. Gilliam, of 
Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. John Nash, of Washington, and Mrs. 
Henrietta G. Jones, of Norfolk; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary W. 
Gray, of Petersburg.
Services will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today 
at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. M. Colgate Daughtrey, supply rector of Christ and St. 
Luke's Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
