Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch March 26, 1960
Henry Leigh Gilliam, 62, son of Thomas Howell and Mrs. Henrietta Williams 
Gilliam, died Friday morning in New York. A native and former resident of 
Norfolk, he had resided in New York for 35 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Louise Gilliam, and one son, Leigh Gilliam, 
both of Westover, Md.; three brothers, Thomas H. Gilliam, Jr. of Hacks Neck, 
Theodoric A. W. Gilliam of Darien, Conn., and Armistead W. Gilliam of 
Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. John Nash, also of Washington and Mrs. 
Stanleigh Jones of Virginia Beach.
The body will be brought to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
A funeral service will be conducted at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 
2 p.m. by the Rev. James King, pastor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Newport 
News. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
