A lifelong resident of Princess Anne County, he was a son of Pryor and Mrs. Emma Dingee Gimbert. He was a retired farmer and a member of London Bridge Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Reader Gimbert; four sons, G. Russell Gimbert of Virginia Beach, Claude R. Gimbert and Houston P. Gimbert of Oceana and B. Irvin Gimbert of Roanoke; two daughters, Miss Anna L. Gimbert and Mrs. Edward St. Clair of Oceana; three brothers, Harvey C. Gimbert of Lynnhaven, William H. Gimbert of Charlottesville and Edgar O. Gimbert of London Bridge; a sister, Mrs. Lettie Sitser of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Maestas Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in London Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. G. E. Hughes. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
