A native of Vinton, he had lived in Norfolk 65 years, residing with his daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Donald, at 114 West Bay Ave., Ocean View. He was the husband of the late Mamie Williams Gish and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gifford Gish. He is survived by four sons, Richard C. Gish Jr., Russell W. Gish, Leslie M. Gish and James F. Gish of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Donald and Miss Lillian Mae Gish of Norfolk; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in Derry-Twiford Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Rudolph Kidd, assistant pastor of Park Place Methodist Church. Burial will be in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
