Glass Jr, 61, of the 4800 block of Honey Grove Road, a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, died July 5, 1988, in a hospital. Mr. Glass, a native of New York City, had retired from the Navy after 20 years. He saw service in the Korean War and Vietnam War. After his return to civilian life, he worked in the automotive service department for Sears Roebuck and Co., Pembroke Mall. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Mr. Glass was treasurer of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Norfolk Chapter. Survivors include his wife, Theresa S. Glass; three daughters, Patricia Ann Taylor of Norfolk, Theresa Helene Perry of Virginia Beach, and Barbara Grace Hilton of Gloucester; two sons, Michael James Glass of Norfolk and Steven Brian Glass of Virginia Beach; a sister, Alice Fournier of Bedford, Pa; a brother, James F. Glass of Coxsackie, N.Y; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by the Rev. Canice Welsh. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Christian wake will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel.
