Camilla, known affectionately as ``Liz'' by her close friends, was the daughter of Emma Drew and the late Samuel Drew. She was born in Edenton, N.C. on Jan. 15, 1953 and attended the public schools there. She later attended Winston-Salem State University where she received a BS degree in 1975 and George Washington University where she received her MS degree in 1986. Camilla became a teacher of English in the Virginia Beach Public School system from 1978 until 2003 at Brandon Middle School and Kellam High School. She was the advisor to the Forensics' team at Kellam High School for many years. On June 22, 1985, she was united in marriage to her friend and dearest love, John Maurice Glass. They had an enduring and loving marriage which manifested itself in a home always filled with warmth, good humor and good friends. Camilla was a member of First Baptist Bute Street, Norfolk. She was also a member of the Chesapeake/Virginia Beach Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and the local alumni chapter of Winston-Salem State University. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John M. Glass; her beloved mother, Emma Drew of Edenton, N.C.; her brother, Samuel Alexander (Carolyn) of Corona, Calif.; sisters, Sharon Slaughter (Clarence) of Atlanta, Ga. and Tanya White of Hempstead, N.Y.; her aunt, Ernestine White and uncle, Samuel Johnson; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and her four ``Angels,'' Shirley Campbell, Vanessa Reid, Geraldine Rush and Robena Winston. Her brother, Ernest Sinclair Holley, predeceased her. The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church Bute Street, Norfolk, on Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk.
