Virginian-Pilot  April 9, 1916
The funeral of Miss Sarah Glennan took place yesterday morning at 10 o’clock at 
St. Mary’s Catholic church, and was conducted by Rev. J. J. Doherty. “Lead Kindly 
Light” was sung by Mrs. James Hughes. Many beautiful floral offerings were in 
evidence, and the casket was covered with a pall of white carnations and smilax. 
The orphans of St. Mary’s asylum were present in a body. Interment occurred in St. 
Mary’s cemetery. The pallbearers were: J. A. Baecher, J. E. Allen, W. M. Hannan, 
J. E. Burke, B. E. Melchor, T. S. Fitzgibbons, W. E. Doherty, W. N. Maynard.
